P2X Hub
P2X Hub builds upon the foundation of the Chula Next Energy Initiative, expanding its mission to focus on energy storage and Power-to-X (P2X) solutions—key enablers of Thailand’s transition toward carbon neutrality by 2050. Recognizing that energy storage is the critical missing link in integrating renewable energy and ensuring long-term energy stability, P2X Hub drives innovation across battery technologies, hydrogen storage, and other advanced energy conversion systems.
In 2025–2026, P2X Hub operates as part of the Thailand Energy Storage Initiative, supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Frontiers Champions Tranche 5. This support fuels a robust program of workshops, webinars, summer schools, and international collaborations that promote knowledge exchange, capacity building, and real-world deployment of breakthrough technologies.
By actively engaging researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers, P2X Hub aims to position Thailand as a regional leader in sustainable energy storage and Power-to-X strategies, contributing to Sustainable Development Goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and 13 (Climate Action).

Our mission is to advance energy storage solutions as the key enabler of Thailand’s sustainable energy transition. Recognizing energy storage as the missing link in achieving a stable and decarbonized energy system, we are dedicated to identifying, evaluating, and promoting the most effective storage technologies to support renewable energy integration, grid stability, and industrial decarbonization.

Located worldwide, these Champions play a key role in convening peers through regional or thematic events, fostering an international community of researchers, innovators, and practitioners. Focused on advancing networks, Frontiers Champions utilize funding to organize community-building activities like networking events, webinars, meet-ups, and workshops.
