Knowledge sharing hub to support Power-to-X economy
The project focuses on advancing battery technologies, hydrogen storage, and cutting-edge energy conversion systems, recognizing energy storage as the key enabler for integrating renewable energy and ensuring energy stability. Through international collaboration, research, and capacity building, the project aims to position Thailand as a regional leader in sustainable energy solutions, contribute to global sustainable development goals, and serve as a model for neighboring countries facing similar challenges.
Project Background
P2X Hub builds upon the foundation of the Chula Next Energy Initiative, expanding its mission to focus on energy storage and Power-to-X (P2X) solutions—key enablers of Thailand’s transition toward carbon neutrality by 2050. Recognizing that energy storage is the critical missing link in integrating renewable energy and ensuring long-term energy stability, P2X Hub drives innovation across battery technologies, hydrogen storage, and other advanced energy conversion systems.
In 2025–2026, P2X Hub operates as part of the Thailand Energy Storage Initiative, supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Frontiers Champions Tranche 5. This support fuels a robust program of workshops, webinars, summer schools, and international collaborations that promote knowledge exchange, capacity building, and real-world deployment of breakthrough technologies.
Objectives
Our mission is to advance energy storage solutions as the key enabler of Thailand’s sustainable energy transition. Recognizing energy storage as the missing link in achieving a stable and decarbonized energy system, we are dedicated to identifying, evaluating, and promoting the most effective storage technologies to support renewable energy integration, grid stability, and industrial decarbonization.
